What’s New?
The Registry Office website has been updated to reflect new procedures and a new look making it easier to find what you need. In addition, after more than 10 years, the TSSR is modifying its fee structure in order to streamline the registration process. The New fee structure will take effect January 1, 2025
- Litter Registrations will now include Non-Breeding/Pet and Temporary Registration Certificates. The Application for Registration step has been eliminated. (new fee structure);
- Registered names of puppies will not be required at the litter registration phase; Breeder’s kennel name and puppy’s call name will be used, allowing the owner to apply for a name change afterward (at no charge);
- Kennel registrations of experienced breeders from other registries wishing to transfer to TSSR will be at no charge;
- A nominal fee will now be required for registration transfers into the registry
- New Fee Schedule [ HERE ] , effective January 1, 2025
Additional items:
- Concierge Service. For registrations with pending items, you will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your application, this will let you know that your application has been received and will also let you know if we are still awaiting additional information from you (or your breeder or the stud owner) in order to compete your request.
- Registration Certificates are issued electronically by default.
- The Registry Office has regular office hours in order to expedite your requests.

DNA Kit, what is it and why do I need it?
DNA testing for parentage is required on all dogs with permanent TSSR Registration.

- If you order your DNA test independently, be sure to send a copy of the report directly to TSSR and make sure parentage match is included.
- UC Davis Diversity Panel does not test for parentage; contact us for assistance to get this matched.
- Embark does NOT match for parentage. This test, however, is good for determination of DM testing.
When do I submit tests and/or reports?
- Do no wait! Send immediately upon your receipt of any report or test result required or needed for registration.
- Simply forward the report to TSSRinfo@gmail.com and it will be placed in your dog’s registration folder.
Health Testing. Why do you require them and what kinds of tests are you looking for?
Health testing is one of the hallmarks of breeding sound Shiloh Shepherds. The following tests can be seen in many litter announcements
- Hips, required (see current TSSR rules & regulations for details)
- Elbows, highly recommended
- Heart, required (see current TSSR rules & regulations for details)
- Heart holter, required (see current TSSR rules & regulations for details)
- Thyroid, highly recommended
- Eyes, highly recommended
- TLI, recommended
- DM (degenerative myelopathy) DNA test, highly recommended

Payment? Is it required upfront?
Yes, all fees must be paid in full at time of application. Papers will not be issued until payment is made. Online Payments have helped reduce the amount of time spent on collections of past due accounts.

Suspension? Are there reasons you will not issue my papers?
- All Breeders in violation of TSSR Breeder Code of Ethics will not be issued papers until new copy of Code of Ethics is signed and on file

My Stud hasn't turned 2 years old, can I use him?
Yes, the TSSR, has some exceptions in place for permission to use a stud that is between 13 and 23 months of age.
- Stud must qualify with all exception regulations
- Any exception must be presented to the TSSR BOD for review PRIOR to breeding.

What about regular mail and paper checks?
- Online forms have greatly streamlined operations.
- Online payments help reduce the amount of time spent on tracking payments and/or collections of past due accounts. All applications will require payment upfront prior to processing.
